In line with the government’s efforts to regulate OTT content, it is crucial for all OTT players to be ready and equipped with content codes and regulatory guidelines. Although the current practice allows nonregulated content on the OTT services, however this can soon change with stricter controls by the authorities and regulatory bodies.
As content is now easily accessible to all age groups, OTT players can now play a more responsible role in moderating content with leniency approach especially on the elements of political, religion, cultural and moral values.
OTT service providers may also want to abide by the regulatory guidelines as to avoid any breach or implications to the license condition.
